Margery "Marge" Richart, 87, of Wever, died at 12:20 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at the Great River Hospice House.
Born Feb. 5, 1930, in Waterloo, she was the daughter of Edwin "Bud" and Margaret "Maggie" Kaufman Willwerth. On April 28, 1950, she married James Richart in La Porte City.
Marge was employed at the State Bank of Vinton in Vinton, YWCA in Washington, Central Community High School in DeWitt, Hirsch, Wright, Link & Adams Law Office, Caterpillar, Medusa Aggregates, & Pryor, Riley, Jones & Aspelmeier Law Office, all in Burlington, and Mason & Hanger, in Middletown. She retired April 7, 1994.
She graduated from Lincoln High School, Vinton, in 1948.
She was a member of Harmony Bible Church. She was a 54-year member of the TTT Society, charter member and past president of Chapter EX, TTT in DeWitt, past president, vice president and member of Chapter BD, TTT in Burlington.
Marge enjoyed camping, boating, horseback riding, gardening, Iowa Hawkeye and Burlington High School wrestling, and all the many and varied activities of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Mike (Debbie) Richart of New London; three daughters, Denice (Jack) Plakke of Holland, Michigan, Mary (Darren) Delzell of Burlington, and Karen Burch of Littleton, Colorado; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marlys Rice; one sister-in-law, Catherine Willwerth; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Richart; and several cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Edwin Melvin, Donald, and Darrel Willwerth; one sister, Darlene Driscol; and one daughter-in-law, Debbie Richart.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home.
The memorial service for Mrs. Richart will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 22, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Dingus officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the service. Burial will be in Claypoole Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials have been established for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, and Great River Hospice House.
