Herbert 'Arnie' Raap
Herbert "Arnie" Raap, 92, of Wheatland died Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with Pastor Richard Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Inland Cemetery, Bennett.
Visitation was held Friday, 4-7 p.m., at Fry Funeral Home.
Herbert Raap was born Sept. 2, 1920, in Withee, Wis., to William H. and Emma Raap. He married Laverna Elizabeth Kleppe Sept. 5, 1945. She died May 5, 2007.
Herbert was a lifelong farmer who raised purebred Duroc pigs and was a seed corn salesman for over 20 years.
Herbert is survived by daughters, Lois (Thomas) Hartog of Davenport, Ruth Raap of Davenport and Emma (Keith) Mason of Wheatland; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
