Frances M. Dosland
Frances M. Dosland, 95, of DeWitt died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

A funeral service will be held at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14.

Visitation is 10-10:45 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche.

Frances Maxine Dosland was born Aug. 27, 1917, to Carl and Esther Luthans Hamdorf on the family farm south of Wheatland. She graduated from Wheatland Public School.

Frances married Max A. Dosland Dec. 10, 1936. The couple owned and operated Max's Grocery Store in Calamus until Max was called to serve his country in World War II. In later years, the couple traveled extensively, visiting Army Air Force friends. He died March 31, 1991.

She was a longtime member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Calamus, the American Legion Auxiliary, Wapsi Oaks and Springbrook country clubs, Elks and belonged to Eastern Star for over 60 years.

She was an avid golfer and bridge playe and had a deep affection for her family and friends.

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Ethel Hamdorf of Clinton; nephews, Kent (Sarah) Hamdorf of The Villages, Fla., Jon Hamdorf of Mystic, Conn., and Barry (Barbara) Hamdorf of Carmel, Ind.; three great-nieces, and their children; and other relatives.

Fran also was preceded in death by a brother.

Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
