Wilemina "Minnie" E. Meyer, 95, of Preston died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Miller-Law-Jones-Funeral Home in Preston.
Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
Minnie was born Aug. 7, 1917, to John and Louise Milder Schroeder in Charlotte. She married Raymond A. Meyer Dec. 22, 1936, in Bellevue. He died Sept. 22, 1988, in Clinton.
Minnie was a homemaker who cherished taking care of her family. She enjoyed gardening and watching birds and crocheting doilies and afghans.
Minnie is survived by a son, Robert (Janice) Meyer of Preston; a daughter, Shirley (Howard) Torkelson of Plainfield, Ill.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Laura Turner, Vera Migawa, Maleta Bott, Alberta Mommsen, Maxine Kuehl and Loretta Sullivan, all of Clinton, and Clara Hall of Bullhead City, Ariz.; a brother, William Schroeder of Clinton; a brother in-law, Jerry Smith of Thomson, Ill.,; and three sisters in-law, Mary Schroeder of Austin, Minn., Audrey Schroeder of Camanche and Grace Schroeder of Union, Ill.
Minnie also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, four brothers, a sister, two brothers in-law, and a sister in-law.
A memorial fund has been established.
